The Start-Up Shop Refund & Cancellation Policy


This policy outlines our terms and conditions regarding refunds and cancellations. Please note that all clauses in this policy document are incorporated into our General Terms and Conditions and the Specific Terms and Conditions – StartUpShop.ie. StartUpShop.ie is the online platform operated by The Start-Up Shop Limited. The Start-Up Shop Limited is a registered company in Ireland with company number 531282, and our registered office is located at S31 The Pottery, Bakers Point, Pottery Road, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, Ireland.


  • “Consumer” is defined as per section 12 of the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977.
  • “General Terms and Conditions” refer to the terms and conditions outlined in this document.
  • “Specific Terms and Conditions” are specific terms tailored for various products or services you may acquire from The Start-Up Shop through our website. In cases of conflict, these Specific Terms and Conditions take precedence over the General Terms and Conditions.
  • “Website” or “Site” refers to StartUpShop.ie and all its subsidiary pages.
  • “We,” “Us,” “Our,” or “Ourselves” refer to The Start-Up Shop Limited.

General Terms & Conditions

Force Majeure

In the event of a Force Majeure event that applies to this clause, we commit to notify you promptly. Should the Force Majeure event persist for more than 14 calendar days, either party has the right to cancel the agreement. If you have pre-paid for services that remain unrendered at the time of cancellation, you will receive a full refund from the cancellation date for these services.


As a consumer, you have the right to cancel a contract for goods or services at any time within 14 calendar days from the day after the contract was made. Cancellation notices must be provided to us in writing. However, if we have already initiated the provision of our services or submitted a company formation application to relevant authorities, your right to cancel is forfeited.

Specific Terms & Conditions

Special Limitation of Liability

In cases where your company formation application is rejected by relevant authorities, you are not entitled to a refund for any services acquired from The Start-Up Shop. We do not accept liability if your company is struck off or removed from the register for reasons beyond our control or following the cancellation or expiration of services due to your company’s failure to meet statutory requirements.

Conditions of Our Company Address Services

The Start-Up Shop reserves the right to cancel an address service immediately if we believe there is a substantial risk to our reputation or business.

Price of Goods and Services

We retain the right to update prices on our website and modify, amend, or withdraw products and services without prior notice or explanation. We make every effort to ensure accurate pricing; however, in the event of a significant error, we will void the transaction, entitling you to a full refund.

Continuous Payment Authority

By accepting these Terms and Conditions, you grant us continuous payment authority for the card used to make the original service purchase (or an alternative one if provided) for recurring services. Fees due will be processed on the original card used for the service purchase (or an alternative if provided) on the expiry date. We will provide advance notice before processing any payments, and you retain the right to cancel the service.

Refund Policy - Company Formation Orders

If you purchase a company formation package and decide to cancel before we submit the company details to relevant authorities, we will refund all payments received, provided your written refund request is received within 14 days of the purchase date. No refunds can be granted once the company application has been submitted, even if your company formation is rejected.

Refund Policy - Address Service Orders

If you purchase a company address service (registered office, service address, or business address/mail forwarding service) and decide to cancel:

  • If we have not processed your order and set up your address service(s), you are entitled to a full refund when you cancel within 14 calendar days of the purchase date.
  • If we have already processed your order and set up your address service(s), you are entitled to a refund of all monies paid, minus a €40.00 plus VAT administration charge per address service when you cancel within 14 calendar days of the purchase date. No refunds are issued for cancellation requests after 14 calendar days from the purchase date. The administration charge covers order processing, service setup, and related costs.

Either party (you or us) can cancel an address service by providing one full calendar month’s written notice.

In cases where a refund request is made within 14 calendar days of the purchase date for an address service, but our address is used by your company for more than 14 calendar days after the purchase date at relevant authorities, this address service is considered used, and you are not eligible for a refund.

You may be eligible for a refund for the Registered Office Address Service under conditions specified in section 15.2.a., provided we have not begun drafting or submitting the relevant B2 form filing to relevant authorities, and where applicable, the supporting evidence regarding the change of your company’s registered office address, listed on the relevant public register.
